Vaccine Booking Now Available at 811
People can now call 811 to book vaccines including COVID-19, influenza, adult respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and more.
Nova Scotians can now book many vaccines by calling 811.
Starting today, June 23, the following booking options are available for publicly funded vaccines including COVID-19, influenza, adult respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), pneumococcal, shingles and meningococcal B:
- by calling 811
- online at: https://novascotia.ca/vaccination
- through a family doctor, nurse practitioner or family practice nurse
- through a local public health office: https://www.nshealth.ca/public-health.
“Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect your health,” said Michelle Thompson, Minister of Health and Wellness. “By adding vaccine booking to 811, we’re simplifying access to help support people and communities.”
The previous vaccine booking line – 1-833-797-7772 – will continue to be available for Nova Scotians who need to book a COVID-19 test, report a positive COVID-19 test to access treatment, or need support to access STI Care Now, a program offering testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections.
Callers to this line looking to book a publicly funded vaccine will be redirected to 811.
People with questions about publicly funded vaccines and where to get vaccines that are not available for booking as noted in this release should talk to a healthcare provider.
Quick Facts:
- Nova Scotians can access their vaccine records via the YourHealthNS app and online at: https://vaxrecordns.nshealth.ca
- vaccines can be booked through 811 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. from January 1 to September 30, and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from October 1 to December 31
- 811 is the province’s line for health information and advice, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week
