Public Consultation Meetings
NOTE: This release is issued on behalf of the electoral boundaries commission.
Nova Scotia’s 2025 electoral boundaries commission will hold its second round of public consultations in Cape Breton on October 4, 5 and 6.
The House of Assembly established the commission in April to recommend electoral boundaries to provide effective representation of the Acadian region of Chéticamp and area. The commission held its first round of meetings in July before submitting its interim report to the Premier on August 29. It will submit its final report in early 2026.
Consultations will be held in the following communities:

Mabou
- date: Saturday, October 4
- time: 2 to 4 p.m.
- location: Beinn Mhàbu campus gymnasium, Gaelic College, 32 MacDonald Rd.

- date: Sunday, October 5
- time: 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
- location: Canton Culturel, 15118 Cabot Trail

Margaree Forks
- date: Sunday, October 5
- time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- location: Margaree Firefighters Club, 7811 Cabot Trail

Whycocomagh
- date: Monday, October 6
- time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Whycocomagh Waterfront Centre, 9650 Hwy. 105.
