The firefighting response in the Lake George area of Kings County, near Aylesford, includes planes from Northwest Territories and Newfoundland and Labrador, Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and volunteer firefighters, contracted helicopters, heavy equipment operators and other agencies. The fire currently covers an estimated 250 hectares and has forced the evacuation of about 350 homes and cottages. The photos below were taken today, October 3.
