Joint Statement on New Collective Agreement Between Province, NSGEU

NOTE: The following is a joint statement from Twila Grosse, Minister of the Public Service Commission, and Sandra Mullen, President, Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU).

The Province of Nova Scotia and the NSGEU were called back to the table by arbitrator Karen Hollett. As a result of this work, the arbitration board issued an order resulting in a new collective agreement.

The order is binding on both parties, and each side is reviewing the details and will release more information once that work is complete.

Both parties appreciate the work of the arbitrator as well as the dedication and collaboration of our respective bargaining committees in bringing this matter to conclusion.

The Province of Nova Scotia and the NSGEU will continue to work together to deliver programs and services to Nova Scotians.
