First-Quarter Results, 2025-26

The Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation (NSLC) released its first-quarter financial results today, September 16.

Total sales from April 1 to June 29, 2025, were down 1.7 per cent to $218.8 million, with a decrease in beverage alcohol sales and an increase in cannabis sales compared with the same time last year.

Beverage alcohol sales decreased 2.9 per cent to $185.7 million, and cannabis sales increased 5.9 per cent to $33.1 million.

Earnings decreased 5.4 per cent to $66.6 million.

Sales of Nova Scotia products increased by eight per cent to $36.8 million. Locally produced beverage alcohol sales increased 10.6 per cent to $27.5 million, including:

  • spirits increased by 22.9 per cent to $3.4 million
  • wine increased 16.4 per cent to $4.4 million
  • ready-to-drink products increased 12.9 per cent to $11.0 million
  • craft beer increased 3.5 per cent to $8.7 million.

Local cannabis sales decreased one per cent to $9.3 million with Nova Scotia cannabis products accounting for 28.0 per cent of all cannabis sales.
