Funding to Upgrade Community Playground in Cumberland County
Residents of Cumberland County will benefit from a safer, updated and accessible playground, with a provincial grant to support the Southampton Community Centre.
“Community spaces play a vital role in our neighbourhoods, providing places where children can play, families can gather and friendships are built,” said Tory Rushton, Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables and MLA for Cumberland South, on behalf of Timothy Halman, Minister of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage. “We are committed to ensuring these spaces are safe and accessible for everyone, and this investment will help the Southampton Community Centre continue to be a cornerstone for the community.”
The centre will replace its existing playground, which had reached the end of its lifespan and no longer met safety requirements.
