New Wastewater System for Ingonish
New wastewater infrastructure in Ingonish, Victoria County, will provide municipal wastewater service to more homes and businesses and reduce the risk of pollution.
“It’s important that all of our municipal services ensure the health, safety and future of our communities, and that includes our wastewater services,” said Keith Bain, MLA for Victoria-The Lakes, on behalf of John Lohr, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. “Building a new wastewater infrastructure system in Ingonish is another great step towards building better, stronger communities and a brighter future for this beautiful region.”
New infrastructure for the Ingonish Beach area will extend to the community of Ingonish Harbour and collect wastewater from the Cape Breton Highlands National Park property and Keltic Lodge.
The Province is investing more than $7.35 million in the project, with an additional $7.35 million coming from the municipality of Victoria County.
This project is part of the Municipal Capital Growth Program, a one-time $102-million investment in projects across Nova Scotia – a historic provincial investment in municipal infrastructure.
