Call for Applications to Agencies, Boards and Commissions
From the Accessibility Advisory Board to the Workers’ Compensation Board, about 140 agencies, boards and commissions are available to Nova Scotians interested in making an impact in their communities and province.
The Province is launching its biannual call for applications to the boards, which provide advice and services in a wide range of areas, including health, policing, agriculture, education, culture, environment, transportation, professional regulation and more.
“Just about every Nova Scotian has an interest or expertise that means they would be a valuable contributor to one of our many agencies, boards or commissions,” said Pat Dunn, Minister responsible for the Voluntary Sector. “I encourage everyone to take a look at the opportunities and consider serving our province this way.”
The list of agencies, boards and commissions, details about what they do and information on applying, is available at: https://novascotia.ca/exec_council/abc/ . The deadline for some applications is May 24.
Examples of other boards include:
- university boards of governors
- library boards
- boards of colleges of healthcare professionals
- the newly created Invest Nova Scotia Advisory Board and Build Nova Scotia Advisory Board
- labour-related committees and boards.
The Province encourages people from diverse communities to apply so agencies, boards and commissions better reflect the province’s population.
