Film Productions Announced

Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI) announced four newly approved productions through the Nova Scotia Film and Television Production Incentive Fund today, May 14.

Documentary TV series, Psychic Kelley Season 2, produced by Beyond3 Productions Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $386,315 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $1,207,235.

Documentary TV series, Slainte Season 2, produced by Winter Light Productions Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $227,200 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $710,000.

Feature film, Night Blooms, produced by Midnight Blue Pictures Inc., has been approved for a funding commitment of $140,717 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $485,231.

Television series, Locke and Key Season 1, produced by 3324021 Nova Scotia Limited, has been approved for a funding commitment of $520,690 based on eligible Nova Scotia expenditure of $2,082,759.

Quick facts:

  • the fund applies to eligible costs such as labour, goods or services purchased from a Nova Scotia-based supplier
  • when an application is approved, NSBI issues a commitment letter which can be used for bank financing. When the applicant enters the official incentive agreement, the agreement can also be used for the financing process
  • when the production is approved for a funding commitment, the funds are placed in reserve
  • when the production is complete the applicant submits a final claim to NSBI for processing and disbursement
  • all applications and claims are processed and approved by NSBI
