Old Fashioned Christmas Returns to Sherbrooke Village
Sherbrooke Village's annual, award-winning, weekend Old Fashioned Christmas celebration will once again enchant visitors starting at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27.
Festivities begin with a traditional tree-lighting ceremony and a candlelight procession through the village followed by free family entertainment, hot chocolate and snacks. There will be fireworks, a visit from Santa and karaoke at the Lion's Hall to round off the evening.
Saturday and Sunday activities include craft workshops, a craft show and sales, a children's scavenger hunt, a family skate, festive dining, entertainment and house tours. Both days will feature Victorian teas in the afternoon.
Saturday ends with a dinner theatre at the Lion's Hall. Sunday’s wrap up is an ecumenical service followed by a festive dinner and the grand finale concert at St. James Presbyterian Church.
"Old Fashioned Christmas is a great opportunity for families to enjoy time together and kick off the holiday season," said Patricia MacKay, chair of the Sherbrooke Village Old Fashioned Christmas Association committee. "We are committed to funding as many free family and children's activities as possible."
During its 21 years of celebration the Old Fashioned Christmas at Sherbrooke Village has attracted thousands of visitors and been named one of the top 10 events in the province by the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia.
