Prince Edward to Visit Nova Scotia in November

Lieutenant-Governor

His Royal Highness The Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II, will be in Nova Scotia Nov. 1-2.

He will participate in events for The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award and other organizations.

"I am pleased to welcome His Royal Highness back to Nova Scotia as he works to raise awareness about the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award program," said Lt.-Gov. J.J. Grant. "I am delighted that His Royal Highness is taking time out of his schedule to help recognize Nova Scotians who contribute so much as volunteers in our communities."

The public is invited to an arrival ceremony on the grounds of Government House, 1451 Barrington St., Halifax, at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov.1.

He will tour the IWK Health Centre and then participate in a Gold Award Ceremony for the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Nova Scotia Division on Monday, Nov. 2, at the Halifax Central Library. The visit concludes with an event for community leaders and volunteers at Government House.

The lieutenant-governor and Premier Stephen McNeil will accompany him to most of the events.

The prince will also visit Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland. This will be his 37th visit to Canada.
