Crown Attorney Appointed in Antigonish
Thomas Kayter has been appointed as a Crown attorney in the Antigonish office of the Public Prosecution Service.
Martin Herschorn, director of public prosecutions, announced the appointment today, June 4.
"Mr. Kayter's criminal law experience and his fluency in both official languages make him a solid asset to our team of Crown attorneys," said Mr. Herschorn.
A native of Halifax, Mr. Kayter graduated in 2004 from the University of New Brunswick with a bachelor of applied management. In 2010, he graduated from l'Université de Moncton with a juris doctorate.
Mr. Kayter articled with Burchell MacDougall in Truro and was later appointed an associate. In 2013, he joined Blackburn English in Enfield. While in private practice, Mr. Kayter focused on criminal law, family law and civil litigation. He has also taken on per diem Crown attorney work for the Public Prosecution Service in Amherst, Truro, New Glasgow but primarily in Antigonish.
