Crown Attorney Appointed in Halifax

Sarah Hebb has been appointed as a Crown attorney in the Halifax office of the Public Prosecution Service.

Martin Herschorn, director of public prosecutions, announced the appointment today, June 3.

"Ms. Hebb's background in criminal law and her prosecutorial experience make her a valuable addition to the Public Prosecution Service," said Mr. Herschorn.

A native of Halifax, Ms. Hebb graduated in 2005 from Saint Mary's University with a bachelor of arts in criminology and anthropology. In 2009, she graduated from University of New Brunswick law school.

Ms. Hebb articled with Ferrier Kimball Dumke Thomas in Bridgewater, was an associate lawyer with Burchells LLP in Halifax and later an associate lawyer concentrating on criminal law with Newton and Associates in Dartmouth.

Ms. Hebb has been doing per diem Crown attorney work for the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service in Bridgewater.

Ms. Hebb coaches junior mini girls basketball for the Norwood Knights Basketball Club. She also was the assistant girls basketball coach for Queen Elizabeth High School while playing varsity basketball for Saint Mary's.
