Minister Offers Condolences to Family of Deceased Worker
Labour and Advanced Education Minister Kelly Regan is sending condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of a man who died in Halifax today, Feb. 7, while driving to work in a company vehicle.
"I can't imagine how this man's family must be feeling, and my thoughts are with them during this extremely difficult time," said Ms. Regan. "I want to assure this family that we will help find answers as to why this happened."
Halifax Regional Municipality Police and officers with Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal are investigating. A safety officer and investigator from the Department of Labour and Advanced Education are also on site, and will assist in any way they can.
This is the first workplace fatality this year. In 2013, 34 Nova Scotians died at work.
