Minister Sends Condolences to Family of Deceased Worker
Labour and Advanced Education Minister Frank Corbett sends his condolences to the family and loved ones of a man who died today, May 21, after being electrocuted while working at a complex on Chain lake Drive in Halifax.
"Today, someone's son is not coming home from work. This is a tragedy that is happening too often," said Mr. Corbett. "We don't know yet what happened today, but I want to assure the family that senior officers and investigators are on the scene, and are working hard to find answers as quickly as possible."
This is the 13th workplace fatality this year. In 2012, 32 Nova Scotians died at work.
"Too many people are dying on the job in this province, and I want the family to know that I will get to the bottom of this," said Mr. Corbett.
A stop-work order has been issued until investigators are satisfied workers will be safe.
