Premier Thanks Outgoing MLA for Years of Public Service

Premier Darrell Dexter thanked Vicki Conrad for her many years of hard work to help make life better for families as MLA for Queens.

Ms. Conrad announced today, April 26, she will not run in the next provincial election.

"Vicki has proven herself to be a strong voice for the people of Queens and her passion will be missed," said Premier Dexter. "Both in opposition and in government, Vicki always put the needs and concerns of her constituents first.

"Vicki's leadership and dedication for her community made her invaluable during the Bowater transition. She was there for those workers and was a driving force to help support a better future to the families in her region."

Ms. Conrad was first elected to the provincial legislature in 2006 and was re-elected in 2009. She is a ministerial assistant for the Department of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism (forestry) and she is a member of the Assembly Matters, Economic Development, and Internal Affairs Committees.

"On behalf of the government and the people of Queens, I want to thank Vicki for her work over the past seven years as she and her husband, Scott, invest their time and energy in their homegrown business and community," said Premier Dexter.
