Community Advocate Joins NSBI Board
Nova Scotia Business Inc. is welcoming Paul Belliveau to its board of directors.
Mr. Belliveau is a partner at accounting firm Belliveau Veinotte Inc., which has a 40-year history in southwestern Nova Scotia. He has been a leading business advisor and volunteer in the area since beginning his career in Bridgewater in 1980.
"We are investing to create good jobs and to get Nova Scotia's economy ready for the opportunities on the horizon. Paul Belliveau will be a strong voice for southwest Nova Scotia, and the province overall," said Percy Paris, Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism. "Mr. Belliveau has extensive business experience, knowledge and strong community involvement."
Belliveau Veinotte Inc., has offices in Barrington Passage, Chester, Shelburne and Bridgewater.
Mr. Belliveau has helped establish the AC Group of Independent Accounting Firms, which supports smaller, independent firms in the Maritimes, that do not have access to the resources and services of larger firms.
Mr. Belliveau, an Amherst native, is a member of the Fellow Chartered Accountants (FCA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia's mark of distinction and highest honour. He was also recognized with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.
Mr. Belliveau has coached hockey and baseball and volunteered with many community groups, including treasurer of the Bridgewater Tennis Club, the Bridgewater Figure Skating Club and St. Joseph's Parish and is chair of the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre project.

NSBI's 13 board members may serve up to four years per term and cannot serve more than two consecutive terms.
Mr. Belliveau replaces Jim Eisenhauer, who has served on the NSBI board since 2005.
