Annual Events Nova Scotia Conference Launches At White Point Beach Resort
More than 100 Nova Scotians will come together to learn about the impact of major events at the annual Events Nova Scotia Provincial Conference.
The conference begins today, Dec. 5, at the newly renovated White Point Beach Resort.
"Major events play an important role in growing our economy and attracting new visitors to Nova Scotia," said Percy Paris, Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism. "Our province has enjoyed a successful year in attracting and hosting world-class events. This conference provides a great opportunity to celebrate that success and discuss future opportunities that will benefit Nova Scotians."
The largest Events Nova Scotia conference to date, the two-day event will feature a panel of industry experts speaking about the impact of major events on Nova Scotia's communities.
Keynote speakers include Patrick Sullivan, CEO of the Nova Scotia Tourism Agency, and Mike LaLeune, former lead training venue manager for the 2012 London Olympics and Paralympics.
"We're excited to be bringing people together from across the province to talk about the importance and impact of major events," said Scott Ferguson, president and CEO of Trade Centre Limited, the Crown corporation that manages Events Nova Scotia. "White Point Beach Resort and the Region of Queens are valued partners and proven leaders in this industry, so this is the perfect backdrop for a discussion about hosting major events."
