Premier Appoints Associate Deputy Minister

As part of government's commitment to make life better for those in need, Premier Darrell Dexter today, Nov. 8, announced the appointment of Lynn Hartwell as an associate deputy minister of Community Services.

Ms. Hartwell will oversee the development and implementation of several major initiatives for housing, employment and income assistance, services for persons with disabilities, and children and family services.

"Ms. Hartwell has been an effective senior executive at several departments, including Community Services, who can support the province's effort to improve life for our most vulnerable," said Premier Dexter.

The premier also announced that Labour and Advanced Education associate deputy minister Jeff Conrad is going to lead the Atlantic Workforce Partnership, created recently by the four Atlantic provinces.

"Mr. Conrad will help ensure the province is ready to take advantage of the tremendous opportunities on the horizon that will require a ready and able workforce," said Premier Dexter.

Both appointments are effective Nov. 15.
