Province Seeks Online Input on Tourism Strategy
The province is using an online survey to seek more input from the public and industry on the long-term tourism strategy.
"We are developing a long-term strategy for tourism to allow Nova Scotia to reach its full potential in this highly competitive global market," said Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism Percy Paris. "The online survey gives us another important tool to ensure we have broad input on the strategy from across the province."
In addition to the online survey, public sessions are also gathering input. The remaining sessions will take place in Sydney on Monday, Aug. 20, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design (Loft), 322 Charlotte St., in Inverness on Tuesday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Inverness County Centre for the Arts, 16080 Highway 19, and in Halifax on Wednesday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The venue for the Halifax session has changed to the Acadia Salon, Radisson Hotel, 1649 Hollis St.

The final long-term strategy for tourism is expected to be presented at the annual Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia conference in November.
The interim board of the Nova Scotia Tourism Agency is developing the long-term strategy as part of its mandate to establish the agency. It also recruited Patrick Sullivan as the chief executive officer, and will appoint an inaugural board and create an operating charter.
