World Trade and Convention Centre Chef Christophe Luzeux Receives Top Honour
The World Trade and Convention Centre's (WTCC) executive chef, Christophe Luzeux, has been inducted into the Canadian Culinary Federation's Honour Society.
The announcement was made at the induction dinner in Halifax Tuesday, June 5.
"WTCC has been able to deliver world-class culinary experiences for our guests thanks to Chef Luzeux and his tremendous talent. He is very well-deserving of this recognition," said Scott Ferguson, president and CEO of Trade Centre Limited. "It's a privilege to have such an accomplished chef lead our culinary team."
The federation recognizes leadership, professional excellence, lifetime commitment and significant contributions to the culinary profession.
Mr. Luzeux has been an active member of the federation for many years, participating in several national and international competitions. In addition to his role as Atlantic Region vice president for two years, he was also president of the Nova Scotia Association of Chefs and Cooks and served on the Culinary Canada Team for five years.
"I've enjoyed having the opportunity to participate in many federation activities over the years and work alongside some of the most talented culinary professionals in the industry," said Mr. Luzeux. "I'm very grateful for this honour."
He graduated from the lycée Michel Servet in Lille, France and joined the WTCC team in 1989, taking on the position of executive chef in 1993. In addition to this most recent honour, he has received a number of awards and is a culinary Olympic gold medalist.
Trade Centre Limited is a provincial Crown corporation that operates the World Trade and Convention Centre, Exhibition Park, Ticket Atlantic, Halifax Metro Centre, Major Events and World Trade Centre Atlantic Canada.
