Deputy Premier Expresses Condolences on Death of Paul Comeau

Premier's Office

Deputy Premier Frank Corbett sent his deepest sympathies to the family of Paul Comeau, who lost his battle with cancer Saturday, May 19.

"Paul Comeau did so much to raise the profile of the Acadian community in this province," said Mr. Corbett. "He was a leader in every sense of the word. This is a great loss for southwestern Nova Scotia, and the entire province."

Mr. Comeau was an active community and municipal leader, serving several terms as the Warden of the Municipality of Clare and was also a past executive director of the Fédération acadienne de la Nouvelle-Écosse.

He was well known for his culinary talents, which he practiced at Café Chez Christophe, the restaurant he opened in his great-grandfather's old house in Grosses Coques more than 15 years ago.

"Paul gave so much, right up until the end," said Mr. Corbett. "Our thoughts are with everyone who knew this fine man."
