Premier Expresses Sadness Over Death of John H. Boudreau
Premier Darrell Dexter expressed sadness over the passing of John H. Boudreau, who died Wednesday, May 16.
Mr. Boudreau was one of the first recipients of the Order of Nova Scotia, in 2002. Most recently, he served as the warden of Richmond County.
"My deepest sympathies go out to Mr. Boudreau's family, friends, and colleagues," said Premier Dexter. "Mr. Boudreau was a great champion on behalf of Nova Scotia, and an inspiring leader. He will be missed."
Mr. Boudreau was a dedicated teacher and an enthusiastic sportsman. In 1985, he was instrumental in the financial recovery of the Isle Madame Fisherman's Co-op. Mr. Boudreau was a dedicated volunteer, and was the founding chairman of the Development Isle Madame Association and the founding vice-chair of Telile, the Isle Madame Community Television station.
In large part, through Mr. Boudreau's efforts, Isle Madame is known nationally and internationally as an example of community resilience in the face of adversity.
