User Fees Will Not Increase in Budget 2012

The province will not be increasing fees in Budget 2012.

"The upcoming budget will have a number of measures that make life a little better for families, including keeping fees at their current level," said Finance Minister Graham Steele. "As a government, we are working hard to balance cost-recovery with affordability and accessibility."

There are about 1,400 fees charged by government departments including vehicle registration, licence renewal and fishing permits. The last adjustment to user fees was in April 2011.
