New Board Members Appointed
Mike Roberts and Lydia Bugden have been appointed to the Waterfront Development Corporation board of directors the province announced today, March 14.
"These new board members have made significant contributions to the business community and bring valuable experience in accounting, community development and law," said acting Economic and Rural Development and Tourism Minister John MacDonell. "Waterfront Development has multiple development projects underway which are economic drivers for our province, and will help to grow our economy."
Ms. Bugden is a partner at Stewart McKelvey. She was recognized by the Progress Club with a Women of Excellence Award and a Top 40 Under 40 award from L'Expert. She is on the board of the YMCA, chair of Phoenix Youth Programs and is past chair of the Junior Achievement Nova Scotia Business Hall of Fame board of governors.
Mr. Roberts, vice-president of corporate development at Irving Shipbuilding, is the past vice-president, human resources at Aliant. He is a chartered accountant and was a volunteer on the Bedford Vision Implementation Committee.

As a provincial crown corporation that manages provincially owned land along the waterfronts of Bedford, Dartmouth, Halifax and Lunenburg, Waterfront Development reinvests all revenue generated back into developing public spaces to create great waterfront experiences. More than $30 million has been reinvested to develop the Halifax Waterfront over the last 15 years.
