Deadline Extended for Feedback on Draft Coastal Strategy
The deadline for providing feedback on Nova Scotia's draft coastal strategy has been extended to Friday, Dec. 16.
"Although we have heard from a good number of people already, we have had some requests for an extension," said Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Sterling Belliveau. "Providing more time helps to ensure a stronger strategy that represents the broadest range of people and topics."
The draft strategy focuses on seven issues that are crucial to effective coastal management:
- coastal development
- working waterfronts
- public coastal access
- sea level rise and storms
- coastal ecosystems and habitats
- coastal water quality
- governance
The strategy establishes goals, objectives and actions for these issues.
The draft coastal strategy and feedback form are available at www.gov.ns.ca/coast or by calling 902-424-5830.
