Legislature Launches New French Website
Nova Scotia's Francophone population can now enjoy a new French version of the Nova Scotia Legislature's web site.
"Access to information is a cornerstone of democracy," said Speaker of the House of Assembly Gordie Gosse. "With this development, the French-speaking community now has enhanced accessibility to a wealth of information about the work of the legislature, in their native language."
The new version was financed by the NORIA program of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie. It was translated by Acadian Affairs and developed by the Legislative Library.
Since 2008, limited French access was available on the old web site. In the fall of 2010, the legislature launched a new English site and decided to expand French content to mirror the English version.
The new site is available at http://nslegislature.ca/index.php/fr/ .
