Amendments to Agriculture and Rural Credit Act
The province is making it easier and faster to access farm loans and ensure Nova Scotia's agriculture industry stays competitive.
Agriculture Minister John MacDonell introduced the amendments to the Agriculture and Rural Credit Act today, Nov. 8.
Mr. MacDonell said the proposed changes will modernize operations and help farmers and businesses stay competitive.
"The Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board allows farmers to get the necessary loans and guarantees they need to start or grow their businesses," said Mr. MacDonell. "These changes are designed to find efficiencies and improve client service and satisfaction."
The amendments include updating the duties and powers of the Nova Scotia Farm Loan Board. Other administrative and structural changes to the board will make its operations more efficient.
