Deputy Minister to Premier Announces Retirement
Greg Keefe, deputy minister to the premier, recently announced his plans to retire after 35 years working for the province of Nova Scotia in a variety of senior roles.
"I want to thank Greg for taking on the role of deputy minister to the premier. His insight, advice and guidance on important public policy issues and fiscal management has proven invaluable over the past few years. He will be missed," said Premier Darrell Dexter.
"Greg's leadership of the Treasury Board team has put Nova Scotia on the path to being a province that lives within its means."
Mr. Keefe is also clerk/secretary of the Executive Council, head of the Public Service, and deputy minister responsible for Communications Nova Scotia, Treasury Board and the Chief Information Office.
Mr. Keefe will retire at the end of November. Premier Dexter will announce his replacement in the months ahead.
"While I am disappointed that Greg is leaving the position, I do wish him a healthy and happy retirement. He has dedicated his entire professional career to the civil service for more than 30 years and deserves to relax and enjoy the next chapter of his life," said Premier Dexter.
