Premier Offers Support, Encouragement For Jack Layton

Premier Darrell Dexter, today, July 25, offered Jack Layton, federal leader of the opposition, best wishes and every encouragement for a healthy and speedy recovery from his latest cancer diagnosis.

Mr. Layton announced today that he intends to temporarily step aside to deal with his heath issues.

"Jack and his entire family will be in my thoughts as they take on this difficult challenge," said Premier Dexter. "It is important that Jack have as much time as he needs to focus on his health so he can return to public service as quickly as possible to do what he loves best."
