Deputy Premier Congratulates Brad Marchand on Stanley Cup Win

Deputy Premier Frank Corbett, today, June 16, congratulated Boston Bruins player and Hammonds Plains native Brad Marchand for his exceptional performance during the Stanley Cup playoff series.

"From the beginning of the series, Brad was focused, determined and committed to winning the cup," said Mr. Corbett. "Brad has made the entire province proud and we look forward to celebrating his victory with him when the cup returns to the province in the months ahead."

Mr. Marchand scored five goals and 11 points in the final series.

"Brad and the entire Bruins team has made my friend and colleague Bill Estabrooks a very happy man," said Mr. Corbett. "I know Bill and all the Bruins fans in Nova Scotia are ecstatic that with the help and determination of Brad Marchand, the Boston Bruins won their first Stanley Cup since in 1972."
