Independent Auto Insurance Review Final Report Released
The independent review of Nova Scotia's automobile insurance system has reached another milestone. The final report, prepared by review lead Ron L'Esperance, is now available.
"We want to make sure the auto insurance system in Nova Scotia meets the needs of today's families, while balancing fairness, affordability and stability of rates," said Graham Steele, Minister for the Insurance Act. "Over the next few months, we'll analyze the likely cost of the various recommendations, and then we'll make our decision about which recommendations to accept.
"If legislative changes are necessary, we're aiming for the fall sitting of the House of Assembly."
The Utility and Review Board will provide a cost analysis for the options identified in Mr. L'Esperance's report.
