Applications Invited for School Board Vacancies, Tri-County and CSAP
The province is looking for people who are interested in making a difference in public education to fill three school board vacancies.
"Being a member of a school board is a great way to get involved in your community," said Education Minister Ramona Jennex. "Working with the Tri-County Regional School Board and le Conseil scolaire acadien provincial would be a fantastic opportunity."
Applications are invited to fill two vacancies for members of the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial, representing the electoral districts of Richmond and Halifax, and one vacancy for the Tri-County Regional School Board, electoral district six, in Yarmouth.
As stated by the Education Act, the minister will appoint a replacement to the board when there is a vacancy with six months to two years remaining in the term. The appointees will serve until the next municipal elections in October 2012.
Applicants must complete a form on the Department of Education website which verifies that they satisfy the requirements for school board members. Applications must be received by May 20.
