Nova Scotians across the province are ready for their close-up.

The My Nova Scotia tourism campaign kicked off in Yarmouth today, April 4. Excited participants lined-up to audition and win a chance to star in a regional television promotion, airing this summer.

"We are so pleased with the response the campaign is receiving from Nova Scotians," said Percy Paris, Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism.

"This regional campaign is an innovative way to get people excited about promoting our beautiful province. They are helping to attract more visitors to Nova Scotia by sharing their favourite experiences and telling everyone why they need to come and visit."

Twenty-one lucky winners, who can express what they love most about the province in a compelling and entertaining way, will be featured in television commercials that will air from May to September.

The My Nova Scotia audition bus will travel to 13 other destinations across the province, heading to Lunenburg and Liverpool on Tuesday. The tour also includes stops in Wolfville, Annapolis Royal, and Cape Breton.

The final event will take place in Halifax on the waterfront wharf at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic on April 18.
