Province Offers Condolences to Japan

Acting Premier Bill Estabrooks is offering his heartfelt condolences to the people of Japan after a tsunami and earthquake struck today, March 11.

"I'm sure all Nova Scotians join me in expressing our concern for the people Japan, their families, friends and relatives," said Mr. Estabrooks. "The earthquake and tsunami were devastating and we can only hope those who need help will get it as quickly as possible."

One of the most powerful earthquakes on record, reportedly 8.9 in magnitude, was followed by a huge tsunami this morning.
