Premier Offers Condolences on Death of Media Pioneer

Premier Darrell Dexter extended his sympathies to the family, friends and former colleagues of Dave Wright, founding host of ATV's Live at 5, who passed away today, Feb. 17, after a long battle with cancer.

"Dave Wright did so much for the broadcasting community here in Nova Scotia, and throughout Canada," said Premier Dexter. "He was a fine man and a great television host. This is indeed a sad day for anyone who was fortunate enough to have worked with or known Mr. Wright.

"I would like to offer my sincere condolences to his family, friends and former colleagues throughout this difficult time."

Mr. Wright began his broadcasting career in 1950s. He created ATV's Live at Five in 1982 and hosted the program for four years. He also worked as a consultant for radio stations in Ontario and Quebec.
