Film Nova Scotia Announces Board Appointment

Community leader Gordon Anderson of Barneys River, Pictou Co., has been appointed to the board of directors of Film Nova Scotia.

Mr. Anderson, who is a member of the Chignecto Central Regional School Board, brings strong administrative and education expertise to the board. Appointed to three-year term, he also provides extensive community service knowledge having served as a director on several provincial boards and agencies.

"We are pleased to welcome Mr. Anderson to the board of directors," said Bonnie Kirby, chair of Film Nova Scotia. "The expertise and knowledge that he provides will make him an invaluable advisor to the corporation."

Mr. Anderson's appointment broadens the board's geographic reach in Nova Scotia with directors from Sydney, Pictou and five
from the Halifax area.

"With the addition of Mr. Anderson to the board, we are ensuring that Film Nova Scotia will continue to benefit from a diversity of experience and opinions," said Ann Mackenzie, president and CEO of Film Nova Scotia. "We are pleased that a respected person like Mr. Anderson has shown commitment to our exciting and vibrant industry."

Film Nova Scotia is a provincial Crown agency reporting to the Minister of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism. The corporation provides a wide range of programs and services to support the province's audiovisual industry. With an industry employing almost 3,000 people and contributing more than $100 million to the economy annually, Nova Scotia is among the largest production centres in Canada.
