Speaker, Deputy Speaker Appointed

Members of the Nova Scotia Legislative Assembly elected Gordon Gosse as Speaker of the House of Assembly today, Jan. 19.

Mr. Gosse was elected to the legislature in 2003 and re-elected in 2006 and 2009. He resides in Whitney Pier with his wife and son, and has a grown son living in Halifax.

The members also elected Becky Kent as a deputy speaker. Kent was elected in 2007 and re-elected in 2009.

Leo Glavine and Alfie MacLeod also remain as deputy speakers.
