Premier Dexter Wishes Premier Williams Well

Premier Darrell Dexter wished Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams well after he announced his resignation today, Nov. 25.

"Danny Williams is a great premier and a great friend to Nova Scotia who stood shoulder to shoulder with us on the Offshore Accord and now Lower Churchill. He made history," said Premier Dexter.

Premier Williams announced this morning that he will leave office on Dec. 3.

Premier Dexter also extended his congratulations to Deputy Premier Kathy Dunderdale, who will take over as interim premier.

Premier Dexter and Premier Williams announced a deal a week ago to generate and transmit power from the $6.2-billion Lower Churchill project at Muskrat Falls. The deal will provide clean power to Nova Scotia for 35 years and create thousands of jobs.
