Premier Promotes Bay of Fundy on World Stage

Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy is a wonder of nature and Premier Darrell Dexter is doing his best to makes sure the world knows it.

Premier Dexter is promoting the Bay of Fundy and its nomination for the New7Wonders of Nature campaign during his trip to Abu Dhabi and South Korea.

"Nova Scotia is a top travel destination and the New7Wonders nomination provides a great opportunity to showcase the beauty and experiences we have to offer on the international stage," said Premier Dexter. "That will help our tourism industry to continue to create good jobs and grow the economy."

The premier recognized South Korea's nominee for New7Wonders, Jeju Island, in his meeting with dignitaries, and suggested that Nova Scotia and South Korea work together to support each another's candidacies in the campaign.

Premier Dexter will also be discussing Nova Scotia's breathtaking natural attractions with Sheikh Nahayan, the minister of higher education in Abu Dhabi when he meets with him tomorrow, Oct. 21.

The Bay of Fundy is Canada's lone finalist among 28 candidates in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign.

The province is working with New Brunswick and its national and international partners to encourage voting to recognize the Bay of Fundy as one of the world's top wonders of nature.
