In a few short weeks, the Halifax 2011 Canada Games will have your ticket to the largest event in Nova Scotia history.

Ticket packages go on sale Thursday, Oct. 7. Passes and individual tickets will go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 3.

There are eight ticket packages, each featuring a variety of passes and tickets. Games passes can provide access to most sporting events during the valid dates of the pass or guarantee a seat at an event with limited seating, such as short track speed skating and synchronized swimming. Individual tickets will only be sold for select events: hockey; curling; and boxing semi-finals and medal games; the opening and closing ceremonies; and the National Artist Program Gala.

The 2011 Canada Games is partnering with Ticket Atlantic for the sale and distribution of Games tickets. Tickets can be purchased online, by phone, or at the Ticket Atlantic Box Office.

A 15 per cent discount will be offered to non-profit groups and school groups of 15 or more. Seniors and students, high school age and younger, will receive a 20 per cent discount.

In addition, all Games events at the Canada Games Oval on the Halifax Common and at Ski Martock and Ski Wentworth will be free to the public.

Atlantica Hotel, official sponsor of the Games and presenting sponsor of the ticketing program, is offering a 15 per cent discount to people who present a valid ticket or pass at its Seasons Bistro restaurant.
