Minister Offers Sympathies

Fisheries and Aquaculture Minister Sterling Belliveau expressed his sympathies to the families of Leeland White, Bryden Orde, Anthony Orde and Corey Leblanc, the crew members who were onboard the scallop dragger, R.L.J. believed to have sunk in the Bay of Fundy on Friday, Sept. 10.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends, the community and our fishing industry," said Mr. Belliveau. "Nova Scotia fishermen and women work in challenging conditions on a regular basis as they carry out their jobs in an unforgiving setting, the ocean."

Mr. Belliveau offered his sincere thanks and admiration to those who participated with search and rescue efforts, as well as everyone in the community who continue to provide support.
