Premier Thanks MLA for Years of Service

Premier Darrell Dexter, today, Sept. 8, recognized and thanked MLA Murray Scott for his years of hard work on behalf of all Nova Scotians.

The MLA for Cumberland South announced his retirement from the House of Assembly.

"Murray and I began in the legislature the same time and I have always respected his commitment and dedication to the people of his community," said Premier Dexter. "He has always been a hard-working member of the House who valued the broad public interest and service to his constituents more highly than narrow party interests.

"Murray's career can be described as community service and I wish him much success in his future endeavors."

Mr. Scott served in many roles during his time in the House of Assembly, including Speaker of the House, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal and Minister of Economic and Rural Development.
