Deputy Premier Congratulates Emily Forrest on Completing Walk Around Nova Scotia

Acting Premier Frank Corbett today, Aug. 9, congratulated Emily Forrest for completing her almost 3,000-kilometre walk around Nova Scotia to raise awareness and funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Brigadoon Village, a group that runs residential camps for children and young people living with chronic illnesses.

"Emily Forrest is an incredible young woman who has accomplished an incredible feat," said Mr. Corbett. "She is an inspiration to all Nova Scotians and I commend her for seeing her goal through to completion.

"I know that the funds raised over the past few months will certainly help these two worthy charities, and the attention Emily has generated for both is invaluable."

Ms. Forrest walked almost 40 kilometres a day between May 13 and Aug. 8, visiting more than 80 communities across the province.
