New Crown Attorney in Port Hawkesbury
Michelle MacDonald has been appointed a Crown attorney in the Port Hawkesbury office of the Public Prosecution Service.
The appointment was announced today, Aug. 3, by Martin Herschorn, director of Public Prosecutions.
"I am pleased to have Ms. MacDonald on board," said Mr. Herschorn. "Her criminal law experience will be an asset to the Public Prosecution Service."
A native of Halifax, Ms. MacDonald graduated from Dalhousie University in 2002 with a bachelor of arts and graduated from Dalhousie law school in 2006.
She articled with Nova Scotia Legal Aid in Dartmouth and was later appointed legal aid duty counsel at Halifax Provincial Court.
Since 2001, Ms. MacDonald has volunteered with the Elizabeth Fry Society of Mainland Nova Scotia and is a former president of the society. While in law school, she was a member of the Aboriginal Law Student Association.
