New Crown Attorney in Dartmouth
James Giacomantonio has been appointed a Crown attorney in the Dartmouth office of the Public Prosecution Service.
The appointment was announced today, June 23, by Martin Herschorn, director of Public Prosecutions.
"Mr. Giacomantonio's experience and enthusiasm will be a valuable addition to our team of Crown attorneys," said Mr. Herschorn.
A native of Halifax, Mr. Giacomantonio graduated from Acadia University in 2001 with a bachelor of science. He later graduated from Dalhousie law school in 2008.
Mr. Giacomantonio articled with McInnes Cooper in Halifax for a year, including a one-month secondment to the Public Prosecution Service. He later worked as a per diem Crown attorney in Antigonish, Port Hawkesbury, Sydney and Dartmouth for several months before joining the Sydney office of the Public Prosecution Service in February for an eight-month term.
Mr. Giacomantonio volunteered with Dalhousie Legal Aid and at the University of King's College as a student don and with debating and public discussion groups. He was also student editor of the Dalhousie law journal.
