Tickets on Sale for Northeastern Export Rally
Nova Scotia companies will gain exporting knowledge, learn about potential markets, and meet professionals dedicated to helping companies grow at the Northeastern Export Rally in Antigonish on Wednesday, June 2.
The event is led by the organizations that make up Trade Team Nova Scotia in partnership with Community Business Development Corporation, StFX University, StFX Enterprise Development Centre and the Antigonish Regional Development Authority.
The Export Rally is a one-day workshop that provides information to business owners about how they can increase sales by exporting. The event is open to product and service-based companies in all sectors, markets and stages of business.
"Exporting is essential for the continual growth of a company," said Mike McMurray, co-chair of Trade Team Nova Scotia. "The Export Rally is focused on educating business owners about how to take their business to the next level and reach their full growth potential."
Export Rally participants can choose from workshops including:
- guide to online shopping carts
- reducing risk
- exporting services globally
- getting products across the United States border
- using technology to enhance business
- transporting products
Experts will share advice and information on hot markets, including Brazil. Participants can also take advantage of on-the-spot market research, and networking.
In 2009-2010, three successful export rallies were held in Cape Breton, Wolfville, and Truro.
Howard Selig, president of Valley Flaxflour, attended the event in Wolfville looking for advice on how to expand his business.
"By attending the Export Rally, I learned about the useful resources that are available to me when I prepare to enter new markets. I now know exactly who to talk to and the right questions to ask."
Registration for the event is $35, which includes access to all of the workshops and lunch. For more information or to register, visit www.exportrally.ca .
