Brookfield Global Relocation Services Expands in Nova Scotia
Canada's top relocation service provider is growing again in Halifax.
Brookfield Global Relocation Services Ltd. is expanding its Halifax office with plans to create as many as 90 new jobs. The province, through Nova Scotia Business Inc., is supporting this growth with a five-year payroll rebate to a maximum of $732,265.
"Investments in companies like Brookfield Global Relocation Services continue to create good jobs for Nova Scotians," said Percy Paris, Minister of Economic and Rural Development. "Brookfield's second expansion is further proof that this province has the right ingredients to support sustainable, long-term economic growth."
This is the province's second investment in Brookfield Global Relocation. In November 2009, the company announced that it was expanding in Nova Scotia with plans to create as many as 150 new jobs.
"Our office in Nova Scotia has been a key element of our company's continued growth and success," said Rick Schwartz, president of Brookfield Global Relocation Services. "We look forward to continuing our growth here."
The company's decision to expand its Nova Scotia operation is a positive indicator of a strengthening economy, said Stephen Lund, president and CEO of NSBI.
"NSBI's strategy is to attract anchor companies in knowledge-based industries," said Mr. Lund. "Brookfield Global Relocation Services is a great example of how building clusters in key sectors of the economy helps grow capacity and create job opportunities."
