Minister Sends Best Wishes to Acadian and Francophone Students

Education Minister Marilyn More sends her best wishes to the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial as it begins a week of celebrating Acadian and francophone education in Nova Scotia.

Activities in support of La Semaine de la promotion de l'éducation acadienne et francophone en Nouvelle-Écosse will take place at all schools in the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial and Université Ste-Anne, March 8-12.

"Nova Scotia has a vibrant Acadian and francophone culture in all aspects of education, from the schools of the CSAP and the campus of Université Ste-Anne, to the work of l'Équipe Alphabétisation in adult education," said Ms. More.

"I wish all students, teachers, staff, parents and families an exciting and fulfilling week of activities to promote learning in their first language."

Some of the activities during the week will include an internet-based treasure hunt, variety shows, art and writing contests, and science, art and heritage expos.

"This exciting event has been held for four consecutive years with great success and we would like to once again invite parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends alike to come to our open houses to celebrate the tremendous work that our students have achieved," said Darrell Samson, director general of the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial.
