Deputy Minister Fowler to Retire
Bob Fowler, deputy minister to the premier's office, will retire after 34 years in the public service, effective Feb. 1, 2010.
Premier Darrell Dexter made the announcement today, Dec. 8.
"I want to take this opportunity to recognize Deputy Fowler for his dedication to public service in Nova Scotia," said Premier Dexter. "Bob's guidance and support has been extremely helpful to me and my team as we made the transition into government."
Mr. Fowler's positions also include clerk/secretary of the Executive Council, head of the Public Service, and deputy minister responsible for Communications Nova Scotia.
He has also served as the first head of the Sydney Tar Ponds Agency, and deputy minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, Immigration and Health Promotion and Protection.
"I want to offer a sincere thanks to Deputy Fowler who capably served governments and premiers from all parties with the highest principles of public service," said Premier Dexter.
